Overnight service has been bringing customers back to
Edge Control
for years. Originally Blair Timmins and Terry Harris started
Edge Control
in the world’s smallest ski shop in what was little more than a storage
area of the Astoria Hotel.

What
Edge Control
offered was revolutionary back in 1978: high quality, professional, overnight
tune-ups and ski repairs.

Until then, this ski town was populated with
skiers who slaved over their own equipment for hours or put up with round
edges. A couple of thin snow years taught the locals the value of having
the pros and their high tech machines return their rock damaged boards
to
"new-from-the-factory" condition.

Terry is no longer involved with the day-to-day operation
but you can see Blair in the shop every day, except when he’s on the hill.

Edge Control
now serves you from its conveniently located, main-street
location (Connaught Drive, across

from the steam locomotive)

in a modern
retail store.

They still specialize in overnight tune-ups using "state of the art" equipment
run by highly knowledgeable, professional technicians.

The equipment they use (valued at about the price of a new "well-equipped"
car) is no longer just a base-grinder.

The advances in ski and snowboard
preparation equipment now let the trained professionals dial up the amount
and degree of
"tune"
your
equipment requires. They can predetermine the angle the edges will
honed to. The bases can even be sintered or
"patterned" so as
to better accept and hold the new wax job.

The result: skis or boards returned to factory or race-ready
condition.

Boot fitting has become a shop specialty. Using Superfeet “trim to fit”, custom moulded foot supports and their hydraulic shell expander, any boot can be made to fit.

The Rental Department includes downhill, snowboards, cross country and
telemark equipment and snowshoes.
