Andy's Bistro, street view

Jasper has over 50 dining options. They range from the humble to the opulent. Andy’s Bistro is unique among these.
Firmly rooted in the tradition of the European bistro, Andy’s has the intimacy of Old World dining. Also in this tradition the owner is the chef. In this case the chef is one of Canada’s finest.

To appreciate, remember that Jasper is full of chefs. Over the last couple of decades the major hotels have all learned that the secret to a successful dining room is hiring the best chef available. As a result Jasper is full of highly talented chefs.

Lucky us.

Swiss born, Andy Allenbach took the plunge in the fall of 1998 leaving the comfort of hotel employment step out on his own with his personal
vision of fine dining—Jasper style. And Jasper is richer for it.

The restaurant itself seats only about 40 people. The kitchen is modern and shiny. The wine, beer and spirits lists are extensive, befitting fine dining.

The decor reflects Andy’s European heritage (Swiss) and evokes a dining room in a wine cellar.

But it is the food that truly is the centre of this dining experience: a master chef let loose to fulfill his professional fantasies and we
get to participate.

The Andy’s Bistro menu changes often. Game, pasta, triple "A" beef, fish, lamb, veal and vegetarian dishes can be expected. Fresh vegetables—of course. As a true chef, sauces and side dishes are always either exquisite renditions of the classics or new inventions. Artistry of presentation is very important to all great chefs. Andy is no exception.

Dinners range from $16 to $28.

During the summer months lunch and afternoon tea is served starting daily at 11:30. These range from $6 to $22.

Andy’s Bistro is all about fine dining but, as for most things in Jasper, informal attire is the rule.

It’s been nearly 10 years since this information on your dining section was updated? I just waisted over an hour reading about and booking, then unbooking in my travel plans for Andy’s Bistro which doesn’t look like it’s been in business in many years. I’m looking for reliable information on what’s in Jasper. Is this the official city page?
