It is rarely admitted, but there are an awful lot of people in Jasper National Park in the summer.
To help you experience true wilderness in the Canadian Rockies may we present Ward Alpine Guiding Services Ltd.

From the earliest days of the exploration of the Canadian Rockies the pack horse has been the most efficient way to travel in true wilderness. Capable of moving large quantities of goods, pack trains allow for a level of luxury and comfort in backcountry camping not otherwise possible.

Horse assisted backpacking is a concept gaining recognition among hikers too. This form of holiday allows the participant to travel with a day pack yet stay at a fully equipped backcountry camp in very remote parts of the mountains.

And it is wilderness that Ward Alpine Guiding Services Ltd. brings to your small group or family. All our two or five day trips are into the Willmore Wilderness Park which is just north of the very popular Jasper National Park.

The trips include all meals, horses (assigned to you based on your experience level), tents and sleeping bags and pads.

From your camp you can ride, hike, fish or just relax in uncrowded wilderness of undescribable beauty.

Top notch meals prepared on a wood stove or open fire are served in a large dining tent or, weather permitting, outdoors.

During the summer season we book tours throughout
Jasper National Park which are especially designed and operated by ourselves
as well as specialty tours run by others.

We also run a year-round reservation service for Jasper’s hotels, bungalows
and home accommodation/bed and breakfasts.

All our staff are Certified Park Interpretive Guides, accredited in First
Aid.

We limit the numbers on our tours to provide you with a personalized tour
and to minimize our impact on the environment of Jasper National Park.

Contents of tours may vary due to season, weather and road conditions.
Children half price age 6 to 14, under 6 no charge. Most of the tours require
a minimum of 3 persons to have the tours to run. The

Keeping in mind that Jasper National Park is located in the Canadian Rockies, our summer season is “nature” controlled. Access to areas is restricted by opening dates and closures due to weather and various Park restrictions beyond our control.

Our summer season early tours begin in late April and are generally
fully operational by mid June. The closures begin towards the end of
September, but we continue on until the snow flies and we start the
winter programs.

There is always something to do in Jasper.

Miette Hot Springs and Watchable Wildlife Tour

Departure: 6:00 pm (allow 4 hours)

Numerous points of interest and possible wildlife – including bear, bull elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, deer, coyotes, beaver, moose and birds – stretch this 57km (32 mile) drive over 1.5 hours.

Once at Miette, take part in a short walk to the source of the springs (optional), then enjoy a rejuvenating soak in the hottest springs in the Canadian Rockies or dine in the cozy atmosphere of the Miette Resort.

Ride the Steel Rails

“ALL ABOARD!” Anytime is train time. We have the connections.

Ride the rails over the Yellowhead Pass, the border between Alberta and British Columbia, following the Fraser River, past Mount Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies.

The van tour includes stops for wildlife, points of interest including the Mt. Robson Information Centre. Depending on the time of year, this can be an excellent tour for seeing bear, moose, eagles, salmon, deer, elk and coyotes.

    and go heli-snowshoeing so we can offer this trip year round.
  • We need a minimum of three people to enjoy the spectacular scenery
    which includes an interpretive guide who will point out the many historic
    sights as well as the flora and fauna of the area. Included in the
    trip from Jasper (we provide the transportation)is a wildlife search.
