Overnight service has been bringing customers back to Edge Control for years. Originally Blair Timmins and Terry Harris started Edge Control in the world's smallest ski shop in what was little more than a storage area of the Astoria Hotel. (When they wanted to turn a ski around, they had to step out of the shop, walk out onto the sidewalk, turn the ski and then re-enter the shop.) What Edge Control offered was revolutionary back in 1978; high quality, professional, overnight tune-ups and ski repairs. Until then, this ski town was populated with skiers who slaved over their own equipment for hours or put up with round edges. A couple of thin snow years taught the locals the value of having the pros and their high tech machines return their rock damaged boards to "good as new" condition. Terry is no longer involved with the day-to-day operation but you can see Blair in the shop every day, except when he's on the hill. |

The revolution they started back then continues in their new location with the same excellence in workmanship. The ski technicians now are Chris Dunlop (Z.O.) and Steve Siegrist. Rookies compared to Blair, they have each been at the Edge Control bench for over twenty years. |

Boot fitting has become a shop specialty. Using Superfeet "trim to fit", custom moulded foot supports and their hydraulic shell expander, any boot can be made to fit. Poorly fitting boots or cold feet are a thing of the past with the innovative, Canadian developed Raichle Thermoflex custom moulded replacement ski boot liners. The Rental Department includes downhill, snowboards, cross country and telemark equipment and snowshoes. Interested in the latest developments in skis? Edge Control rents high performance "shaped" models from Volant, Volkl, Head and Dynastar. For bindings Edge Control carries a selection of Marker, Tyrolia and Look. Helmets for all heads come from Leedom,Ovo and Marker. All kinds of accessories are here too. Included are Rohner and Smartwool socks and underwear by Lifa, gloves by Kombi and Au Clair, goggles by Carrera, Spy, Smith and Uvex. |
